CTC Requirements
Clean Truck Check is required for:
- Diesel vehicles
- Model year 2013 and newer
- GVWR over 14,000 lbs
Requirement is based on GVWR, not the truck model name.
GVWR is verified using the driver-side door jamb sticker.
Not required for gasoline vehicles or diesel vehicles with GVWR 14,000 lbs or under.

Mobile Clean Truck Test FAQ
Diesel vehicles model year 2013 and newer with a GVWR over 14,000lbs are required to comply.
No. Clean Truck Check is based on GVWR, not the truck name. Some F-450 / 4500 / 5500 trucks qualify and some do not. The door sticker is the authority.
GVWR is listed on the driver-side door jamb sticker. We can help verify it on site.
No. Clean Truck Check applies only to diesel-powered vehicles.
Most vehicles are required to test every 90 days, based on the last successful submission date.
Yes. Testing and submission can be done up to 30 days early. Early submission resets the 90-day compliance window.
A Pre-Check confirms the vehicle is ready to pass before submitting the official test. It helps prevent failed or “not ready” results.
If a Pre-Check was completed and the vehicle showed READY, a free re-test within 14 days is available once issues are corrected. (No diagnostics or repairs included.)
Results are submitted to the California Air Resources Board after payment is confirmed.
Yes. After submission, we can provide confirmation that the test was successfully submitted and the vehicle is compliant.
Yes. Fleet pricing is available for 5 or more vehicles, with the best rate starting at 10+ trucks.
